Zoning Variance Application
Application form for requesting a zoning variance from the City of Pottsville. Residents or their representatives submit this to the Board of Adjustment to seek relief from or interpretation of zoning ordinance requirements.
Submittal Requirements
- Application must be completed in full and submitted by the third Wednesday of the month
- Copy of all documentation to be presented at the hearing must be submitted with the application
- Full hearing fee must be paid at the time of submission
- Cost: Commercial Zoning Variance—$750.00; Residential Zoning Variance—$450.00
- If the property owner is not applying, the application must be signed by the owner(s)
Notification Requirements
- Notifications sent by certified mail to neighbors within 300 feet of each side of the property boundary and all neighbors within 100 feet in front and rear
- Property will be posted before the hearing with a letter stating that a variance hearing has been requested and the reason(s); posting cannot be removed before the hearing
- Applicant will be notified by certified mail along with neighbors
